Size: 7½-8½"


Spring: Black with greenish gloss and yellow bill. Winter: Heavy whites flecks and dark bill.

Voice: Numerous sounds including a "wolf-whistle", mimics other birds

Range: All of the United States and southern Canada.

Another import here and definitely considered a nuisance. This bird has been blamed for diminishing the populations of species indigenous to North America and for damaging fruit crops, but they are certainly good singers and can be very comical. What were our whacky European ancestors thinking when they brought these birds here to the USA?
