Egg Yellow - Green globular egg.
Caterpillar Green with large orange and black eyespots.
Host / Food Wild Cherry, Tulip Tree, Birch, Poplar, Ash and Basswood.
Broods 2 broods north, 3 broods south
Habitat Woodlands, gardens, orchards, parks, roadside and river banks.
Range Central Alaska, Canada to Atlantic, southeast of Rockies to Gulf.
Notes

In my opinion one of the most beautiful of all North American butterflies. It is also a very strong flier.

Tiger Swallowtail (Female)
The female Tiger Swallowtail is also a mimic. It has evolved to resemble the Pipevine Swallowtail which birds find distasteful.
